Bitmain will create a platform to connect mining farms with equipment owners

Chinese mining company Bitmain in this friday announced a plan for platform launch, which will connect owners equipment for mining cryptocurrencies with mining farms.

The service is called the World Digital Mining Map (WDMM) and will officially launch at the miners' summit in Frankfurt on October 8-10. Event attendees will be given priority access.

“WDMM will help make cryptocurrency mining more sustainable in the long term by connecting mining farms and equipment owners, ”said Matthew Wang, director of mining farms at Bitmain.

It is assumed that the WDMM will contain information about the energy efficiency of mining farms, their capacity and other information that individual miners can rely on when choosing sites for placing your equipment. In this way, WDMM will function as an open marketplace where miners can find the most appropriate options for placing equipment. For cooperating farms, Bitmain promises to provide support in construction, maintenance of premises and relations with foreign clients.

Whether Bitmain itself will invest in farms and charge commissions for using the marketplace, the company did not specify.
